EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS: During this unit, you will learn about the skills needed to be successful in the workplace. This unit is not only applicable to sport, but these skills gained can be used in any workplace. By the end of the unit, you will explore theories which assess how people are motivated in the workplace. This understanding can be applied and used in managerial positions within most companies.

WORK EXPERIENCE IN SPORT: During this unit, you will gain the opportunity to gain work experience in your chosen area of interest. You will complete a minimum of 35 hours in a placement, which will give you an insight to what it is like to work in that area. Previous students have completed work experience in the following areas: sports coaching, sports science, sports development, sports fitness, sports broadcasting, sports journalism and sports marketing.

PRINCIPLES OF SPORTS COACHING: This unit will provide you with knowledge of the core principles behind coaching support for athletes. You will gain an understanding of how to monitor and develop athletes in a number of different sports. You will apply this understanding and use the methods which you have learnt  to monitor and develop a number of athletes over a set period.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: This unit will enable you to assess and develop a range of professional and personal skills in order to promote future personal and career development. This unit also aims to develop your ability to organise, manage and practice a range of approaches to improve your performance as a self-directed learner in preparation for work or to further career development.
