Meet the Staff

RICHARD KEAR 

Job Role: Business Manager/Sport Team Trainer, Lectuer (BSc Honours Degree in Sports Coaching and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport).
 
Background: My background starts from being a professional Football player at Cheltenham Town Football Club. From there, I have gone on to have a good semi professional playing career. This pathway lead me into completing my Coaching badges and starting a coaching company called ProStars. I am a Uefa B qualified coach and have a Sports Coaching Degree. I have been involved in a managerial role for over 14 years and recently I have became a qualified Project Manager. My role is to help develop the College/Uni and increase student numbers on new and current courses. 

Interests: What I find very rewarding is working with students daily to help enourage them to be thereselves and grow as people. Seeing their journey take place from day one until the day they leave is incredibly rewarding and being part of that process is something I am very proud of.

JORDAN FISHWICK

 

Job Role: Lead Lecturer (BSc Honours Degree in Sports Coaching and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport).
 
Background: My professional background has always revolved around sport. I completed my degree in Sports Science and Sport Education, achieving a first class. After completing my degree I then completed a PGCE in Primary School Teaching, specialising in Physical Education. I have over 9 years coaching experience in local Primary Schools and 7 years experience teaching and lecturing post 16 education. 
 
Interests: I am particularly interested in the art of pedagogy. I am particularly keen on how children and students learn and regularly adapt and update my practice to enable students to gain the best experience possible! I also enjoying playing football, darts and snooker!  

 

 

ETHAN WILKINS

Job Role: Lecturer (BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport) & Senior Coach at ProStars Coaching Company

Background: My journey at FSE started as a student on the BSc Sports Coaching Degree Programme where I gained a 2:1. Whilst on the course, I had the opportunity to develop my skills as a coach and as a lecturer on the BTEC Programmes. Initially, I was paid to coach in Primary Schools and eventually gained a placement where I gained experience teaching on the BTEC Level 3 Programme. After I had finished my degree, I gained a dual role as a lectuerer on the BTEC Level 3 Programme and a senior coach at ProStars. I completed my teaching qualification alongside my job role as a lectuer during my first year teaching at FSE. 

Interests: I have a passion for developing both the children and students in my care. My role is to ensure learners develop as best as I can. In addition, I also play football in the Gloucestershire County League and participate recreationally in a number of different sports!
